De-Escalation: In-Person and Online

Our fully-funded De-escalation Workshops take place across all of our branch locations, and are available to all of our teaching and support staff who are keen to create an inclusive, respectful and caring environment in the classroom. For de-escalation refresher, our online course enables you to re-visit essential de-escalation techniques, understand the six stages of crisis, and respond safely to challenging behaviour to meet safeguarding expectations in schools.

Autism Awareness

Aimed at increasing awareness of autistic spectrum disorders while providing teaching & support staff with guidance and advice on how to effectively assist students with autism, in both their learning and overall wellbeing within educational settings. Additionally, we will explore how to recognise early signs and symptoms of autism in children and highlight the critical role of the SENCO.

The first of a series, this Behaviour Support training discusses proactive classroom management through positive reinforcement, consequences and discipline, restorative practices, social and emotional learning and differentiation. A new SEND-focused CPD series in partnership with leading experts in inclusive and specialist education, including Alistair Crawford, Co-Chair of the National Network for Specialist Provision and Regional Manager with Whole School SEND. This in-person event, delivered by a highly regarded ex Headteacher, aims to up-skill unqualified and inexperienced candidates-however candidates with prior experience of fostering positive relationships with teenagers and young adults, will naturally thrive the most. SEND Support for all Staff: Mainstream vs SEND Specialist Settings explores the key differences between mainstream and SEND specialist settings, equipping staff to support pupils effectively while promoting safety, behaviour, inclusion, and collaboration. This essential course helps all educators understand triggers and dysregulation, apply de-escalation and restraint principles, communicate effectively with colleagues, pupils and families, and adopt inclusive approaches that support every learner, while also reflecting on strategies to maintain professional wellbeing.

Team- Teach

We offer the Team Teach Level 1 & 2 Positive Behaviour Management Courses, to all of our candidates throughout the year. This 12-hour course take place over 2 days & are designed to deliver proven safe strategies for any educator managing challenging behaviour in medium-risk settings. It provides an understanding of the causes of behaviours that challenge, along with respectful, supportive and practical strategies for de-escalation and crisis intervention. All the techniques taught are situated within an approach to behaviour management which seeks to minimise the need for physical intervention and maintain positive relationships.

Safer Working Practice and Professional Standards

Before we send you into your first School assignment, as well as completing the Safeguarding training with us, you will receive training on Safer Working Practices and Maintaining Professional Conduct. We explore acceptable and unacceptable behaviours, how to reduce the risk of allegations via safer working practices and also the consequences of misconduct.

Safeguarding Training

This training has been created with the primary purpose of raising awareness of good practice in safeguarding children and young people, and to help staff identify young people who may be particularly vulnerable to abuse. The online training and course questioning will cover the different types of abuse a young person may experience and what staff can do to spot them, as well as what to do if a child discloses information, and good practice around recording and reporting that disclosure.

Working in partnership with Proxima Education, we provide bespoke training for those educators with QTS around key framework topics. This includes Adaptive Teaching and Scaffolding, Behaviour Management and SEND. Exam Invigilator Training

In this exclusive online learning course for registered candidates, we explore the key responsibilities of an exam invigilator, focusing on maintaining exam integrity and ensuring a fair testing environment. We cover the legal and regulatory framework, including the JCQ Code of Practice and confidentiality requirements. You'll also learn about essential pre-exam procedures, such as preparing the exam room and briefing students. Additionally, we take a deep dive at best practices for monitoring the exam, handling disruptions, and responding to emergencies.

SLCN Training

Develop confidence supporting SLCN across two sessions. Part one explores Total Communication Environments and universal strategies to improve access and inclusion, helping you recognise and respond to communication barriers. Part two focuses on practical classroom application, supporting social communication and interaction, and working within existing school approaches. You’ll also build an adaptable SLCN toolkit to use in new classrooms, helping you quickly support learners with diverse communication needs across different settings and placements.
