About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist SEN school in the Kettering area, starting in January 2027, on a long-term basis, with the potential for a permanent position.

The school is dedicated to helping young people achieve meaningful outcomes through personalised learning, practical experiences and a supportive environment that prepares pupils for adulthood, further education and employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Key Stage 4 pupils with accessing GCSE, vocational and alternative curriculum activities, as appropriate to the setting.
  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support during lessons and practical sessions.
  • Help pupils develop independent study skills, organisation and confidence in their learning.
  • Support students with SEN, including autism, learning disabilities and social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils or young people with additional needs is desirable.
  • An understanding of the challenges pupils with SEN may face during adolescence and exam preparation.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to adapt support to individual learning styles and encourage independence.
  • A patient, professional and resilient approach to behaviour and emotional support
