About the role:

Justteachers are recruiting on behalf of one of our partner secondary schools in the Bury area, who are on the lookout for a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant on a ad-hoc basis.

As a Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional and behavioural guidance. Working closely with class teachers, SEN staff and school leaders, you will help create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where every child can succeed both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with behavioural, emotional and additional learning needs within the classroom and around the school.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a consistent and encouraging role model.
  • Work alongside teachers to implement behaviour support plans and interventions.
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to encourage engagement, confidence and progress.
  • Help create a positive learning environment that promotes inclusion, wellbeing and achievement.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour and development.

Pre-requisites:

  • Referenceable experience working within a school environment in the last two years
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and positive in a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
