About the role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Heckmondwike from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position offering an excellent opportunity to inspire young learners and play a key role in their educational development during their early years of schooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to support development.
  • Differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, learning and pupil wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents to support pupil achievement.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching practices.
  • Excellent classroom management, organisational and communication skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one, is essential.
  • Two school-based references
