About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Leeds on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2026. This rewarding role will involve leading a Year 2 class, delivering engaging lessons that inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will also be expected to support pupils within a small nurture hub when required and must be comfortable providing personal care in a professional and dignified manner. Flexibility is key, as there may be occasions where you are required to support the wider school community through general classroom and TA duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress effectively.
  • Support pupils with additional needs within a small nurture hub.
  • Provide personal care where required, ensuring pupils’ wellbeing and dignity are maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and parents.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and provide flexibility in supporting other classes when needed.

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • An enhanced DBS Check registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Two school-based references
