About the role:

Justteachers is working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Rotherham to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Computing Teacher. This is a Part-time position starting in September (Latest by October) 2026, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role from April 2027.

The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their computing knowledge while preparing them for further study and future careers in technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Computing lessons, covering key concepts such as algorithms, computational thinking, and logical problem-solving.
  • Teach programming with a primary focus on Python, while introducing students to additional languages and technologies such as Java, HTML, and CSS.
  • Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages independence, creativity, and digital confidence.
  • Support students in preparing for assessments and examinations while fostering enthusiasm for computing and emerging technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high-quality Computing curriculum and contribute to the wider life of the department.

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
  • A degree in Computer Science, Computing, or a closely related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK Computing curriculum, particularly at GCSE level.
  • Solid programming skills, particularly in Python, with experience of other coding languages and technologies such as Java, HTML, and CSS.
  • An engaging and adaptable teaching style, with a genuine interest in developments within the technology sector.
