About the role:

Justteachers are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 learner within a welcoming SEN school in Rugby. Beginning in September 2026, this full-time role has no set end date, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a rewarding long-term position. You will play a key role in helping the pupil access learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual learning needs.
  • Assist with implementing personalised learning plans and EHCP outcomes.
  • Support literacy, numeracy and communication activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Help the pupil develop independence and social interaction skills.
  • Work alongside teachers and other professionals to monitor progress.
  • Prepare learning resources and adapt classroom activities where required

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.
  • Understanding of autism, ADHD or other additional needs is advantageous.
  • Caring, flexible and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
