About the role:
justteachers are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant Level 2 position within a specialist provision in the Lincoln area, starting in September on a long-term basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to work within a specialist educational setting that supports pupils across both primary and secondary age ranges. The provision caters for children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), learning difficulties, communication needs, and associated social, emotional and behavioural needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and specialist professionals to support pupils’ academic, social and personal development, helping them access learning and achieve positive outcomes in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
Supporting teaching and learning activities across primary or secondary classes
Assisting with the delivery of personalised interventions and learning programmes
Supporting pupils’ communication, independence and social development
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Implementing EHCP targets and individual support strategies
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider support teams
Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions and unstructured periods
Monitoring and recording pupil progress, engagement and wellbeing
Pre-requisites:
A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Experience working with children or young people within an educational, care or support setting
A patient, caring and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
An understanding of SEN, autism and communication needs is desirable
The ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs
A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
As part of our safeguarding and compliance process, we require a minimum of two professional references covering the last two years in full, along with an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
