About the role:
Justteachers are looking for a full-time, committed Maths Teacher to join a state-of-the-art SEMH school in Failsworth on a long-term basis starting in September.
This specialist setting supports children aged 4-16 with a diverse range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
The position is a long-term, temporary role commencing in September, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from day one by delivering engaging and differentiated Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
You will work closely with support staff, families, and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the highest level of academic and pastoral support, while maintaining clear and consistent communication with parents and carers regarding each pupil’s progress, achievements, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons designed to meet the needs of pupils with a variety of SEMH challenges.
Work closely with Teaching Assistants and wider staff to maintain a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, taking time to understand their emotional needs, triggers, and motivators.
Champion the school’s ethos and contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive atmosphere where every young person feels valued and supported.
Pre-requisites:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven experience working with children in a school or similar educational environment.
Strong background in supporting pupils with SEMH needs, as well as those with Autism and other additional learning or behavioural needs.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and grounded when responding to challenging behaviours or emotionally heightened situations.
A genuine commitment to promoting children’s emotional well‑being, learning progress, and overall development.
