About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a resilient, compassionate, and dedicated Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Shipley, supporting pupils within their Alternative Provision from September.

This is a full-time role with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting students who require a more tailored approach to education, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

The successful teacher will work closely with students who may present with social, emotional, behavioural, or additional learning needs. You will deliver engaging lessons, build positive relationships, and create a safe and supportive learning environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils within the Alternative Provision.
  • Support students with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Develop positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and academic progress.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary.
  • Promote positive behaviour and implement school policies consistently.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external agencies.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and support students’ personal development.

 

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching secondary-aged pupils.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
