About the role:

Justteachers are recruiting for an SEND KS3–KS4 Cover Supervisor at a progressive SEND specialist school in Tameside to cover on a long term basis starting in September.

Join a committed and supportive team, working with pupils aged 11–16 who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) alongside a range of additional SEND requirements.

This role involves supervising lessons, supporting students’ learning and behaviour, and helping to create a safe, structured and engaging classroom environment where every young person can succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise lessons across KS3–KS4, ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task in the absence of the class teacher.

Support students with needs, using strong behaviour management strategies and a consistent, calm approach.

Adapt lesson materials and activities where necessary to meet individual needs and abilities.

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider SEND/Pastoral team to provide consistent and effective support.

Monitor and report on pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress, maintaining accurate records where required.

Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported, respected, and able to succeed.

Pre-requisites:

Cover Supervisor Qualification.

Demonstrated experience supporting children in SEND or targeted intervention roles.

In-depth knowledge of SEND strategies and commitment to inclusive education.

Ability to maintain a calm, consistent, and positive approach to learning and behaviour.

Two or more recent, education based references within the last 2 years.
