About the role:

We are working in partnership with a supportive and nurturing SEN school in Thetford, who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a long-term supply basis starting in September.

This specialist setting provides a positive and inclusive learning environment for pupils with additional needs, supporting Key Stage 2 pupils who are currently working at EYFS level. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering tailored learning opportunities that support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and communication development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils
  • Support Key Stage 2 pupils working at EYFS level across a range of subjects and activities
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet a variety of special educational needs
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and external professionals where required

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience working within an SEN or specialist school setting is desirable
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, including communication and learning difficulties
  • A strong understanding of differentiated learning and inclusive teaching practices
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to reach their full potential
  • Two recent education-based references
