About the role:

Justteachers are working with a lively and inclusive secondary school in Bradford to appoint a Pastoral Manager on a full-time basis from September 2026.

As part of their continued investment in student welfare, they are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Manager to join their team. This is a pivotal role in shaping the culture of care across the school and supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and support for pastoral care across the school
  • Monitor and improve student attendance, punctuality, and behaviour
  • Support students with emotional, social, or behavioural challenges
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to coordinate support
  • Lead on safeguarding concerns and referrals in collaboration with the DSL
  • Promote restorative practices and positive behaviour strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to pastoral reports and interventions

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational or youth support setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and pastoral care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges
  • Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, counselling, or social care (desirable)
  • Two school based references
