About the role:

We are seeking a committed and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in Burnley, starting in September. This is a full-time, temporary position for the full academic year, supporting pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional and pastoral support to help them engage positively with their learning.

The successful candidate will join a caring and inclusive school environment that is dedicated to promoting positive behaviour, pupil wellbeing and personal development for every child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted behavioural and pastoral support to pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
  • Implement behaviour strategies and interventions to help pupils achieve their full potential.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • Support pupils both in and out of the classroom to promote engagement and positive learning behaviours.
  • Monitor, record and report on pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.

Pre-requisites:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, mentoring, psychology or a related field.
  • Proven experience of supporting children with behavioural, social and emotional needs within a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding practices.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Two education or school-based references.
