About the role:

justteachers are working with a welcoming primary school in the Ilkley area to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 4 from September on a full time basis. This is a short-term supply opportunity and would suit someone who is confident supporting Key Stage 2 learners, able to build positive relationships quickly, and keen to make a meaningful contribution in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning within a Year 4 classroom.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
  • Assist the class teacher with classroom organisation, preparation of resources and lesson delivery.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help create an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
  • Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development throughout the school day.

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting is essential.
  • Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 would be advantageous.
  • A caring, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, such as Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, is desirable.
  • Two education or school-based references are required.
