About the role:
Justteachers are looking for a full time Cover Supervisor to join a state-of-the-art SEMH school in Oldham to cover on a long term basis starting in September.
This specialist setting supports children aged 11–16 with a diverse range of SEMH needs.
The position is a long-term, temporary role starting in September and allowing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from day one.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and carers about each pupil’s progress and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise lessons across KS3–KS4, ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task in the absence of the class teacher.
Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, using strong behaviour management strategies and a consistent, calm approach.
Adapt lesson materials and activities where necessary to meet individual needs and abilities.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider SEND/Pastoral team to provide consistent and effective support.
Monitor and report on pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress, maintaining accurate records where required.
Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported, respected, and able to succeed.
Pre-requisites:
Proven experience working with children in a school or similar educational environment.
Strong background in supporting pupils with SEMH needs, as well as those with Autism and other additional learning or behavioural needs.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and grounded when responding to challenging behaviours or emotionally heightened situations.
A genuine commitment to promoting children’s emotional well‑being, learning progress, and overall development.
