justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in Beccles that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time basis from September.

This role will begin on a supply basis, providing an excellent opportunity for both the candidate and the school to ensure the role is the right fit, with the intention of offering a permanent position following a successful trial period.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an experienced Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to provide high-quality classroom support, helping pupils to access learning, develop confidence, and make excellent progress in a positive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils within the classroom on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, and during whole-class activities
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning experiences that meet the needs of all pupils
  • Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional assistance with their learning
  • Encourage pupils’ independence, confidence, and participation in classroom activities
  • Help to create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
  • Support pupils with varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), adapting approaches where required
  • Monitor pupil engagement and progress, providing feedback to teachers to support ongoing assessment
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents/carers
  • Promote positive behaviour and support the school’s behaviour policy
  • Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times
  • Uphold the school’s values and commitment to providing a high-quality education for every child

Pre-requisites:

  • Previous experience working within a school or educational setting
  • A Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential
  • Experience supporting children across the primary or secondary age range is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to supporting teaching and learning
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • The ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents/carers
  • A commitment to supporting every child to achieve their full potential
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Two recent education-based references
