About the Role:

justteachers is recruiting for a Teacher of History to join a secondary school in Leeds from September on a full-time supply basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic History specialist who can deliver engaging lessons, inspire curiosity and help students develop a strong understanding of key historical events, themes and skills.

The successful teacher will deliver History across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the ability to support wider humanities teaching considered an advantage. You will be joining a supportive school environment where high expectations, positive relationships and inclusive teaching are central to pupil progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History to secondary pupils, primarily across KS3 and KS4.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage discussion, enquiry and critical thinking through the study of historical events and sources.
  • Assess, monitor and support pupil progress, providing constructive feedback where required.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learners of all abilities.

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching History within a UK secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for History.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to motivate and engage pupils across a range of abilities.
