About the role:

Justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Primary School Teacher to support a welcoming primary school in Shipley, covering a Year 5 class for the full academic year starting September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who can bring consistency, creativity and strong classroom leadership to ensure pupils continue to make excellent progress during the maternity leave period.

The school is looking for someone who can deliver high‑quality teaching, build positive relationships with pupils and contribute to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and lead a Year 5 class across the full curriculum
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Assess and track pupil progress using school systems
  • Create a positive, engaging learning environment
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Communicate with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support curriculum continuity
  • Contribute to wider school life, including assemblies, trips and enrichment activities

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience desirable)
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons
  • Commitment to supporting pupils’ academic and personal development
