About the role:

justteachers is recruiting caring and dedicated SEN Support Staff to work in specialist SEN schools across Birmingham from September 2026. These rewarding positions offer the chance to support children and young people with a variety of additional needs, helping them to reach their full potential both academically and socially.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about inclusive education and committed to providing high-quality support in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Autism, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other learning difficulties.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual learning plans.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development.
  • Support pupils during classroom activities, breaktimes, and educational visits.
  • Help manage behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Pre-requisites:

  • Previous experience within education, care, youth work, or support roles is beneficial.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Calm, patient, and flexible approach to supporting learners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
