About the role:

justteachers is seeking a full-time Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in the Lincoln area starting in September 2026 on a long-term, temporary basis.
The setting supports pupils with a range of complex special educational needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism, and associated communication, sensory and physical needs. The provision offers a highly structured, nurturing environment focused on delivering personalised learning programmes aligned to EHCPs.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams to provide consistent, individualised support, helping pupils to develop communication, independence and essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
• Support the delivery of individualised and differentiated learning programmes
• Use communication strategies such as visuals, PECS or sensory-based approaches
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and routine
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
• Assist with personal care, mobility and medical needs where required
• Promote independence and consistency throughout the school day
• Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour

Pre-requisites:

• Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN (school or care setting desirable)
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Understanding of communication, sensory and structured support strategies
• Confidence supporting pupils with personal care needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK
