About the role:
Justteachers are looking for a dedicated and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist education setting in Bourne. This is a flexible, part-time supply position, ideal for those seeking varied work or looking to gain experience in a supportive SEN environment.
You will work closely with teaching staff to provide individualised support to pupils with a range of needs, helping them to engage in learning and develop key life skills. This role offers the opportunity to build experience within a specialist provision, with the potential to move into a full-time position from September.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, tailored to their individual needs
Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being
Help pupils develop communication, social, and independence skills
Adapt learning materials to support accessibility and engagement
Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
Pre-requisites:
Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience beneficial but not essential)
A patient, compassionate, and resilient nature
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
A flexible approach and willingness to work across different settings or needs
Ability to build rapport with pupils with diverse learning requirements
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
