About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant specialist school in the Preston area to cover on a Long-term basis. The full-time post is due to start In September 2026 however, immediate start dates may also be available, with shortlisting currently taking place.

This specialist school is dedicated to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment, for children aged 2 to 11 with severe learning difficulties, profound complex learning difficulties and medical needs. Their purpose is ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development.
  • Providing 1:1 and group support to students with SEND, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing tailored education plans.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment to help students achieve their potential.

Pre-requisites:

  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEND support.
  • Proven experience supporting students with SEND.
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and inclusive teaching approaches.
  • Two education or school-based references.
  • The legal right to work in the UK
  • A clear enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
