About the role:

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and high-achieving primary school in the Northampton area.

This is a full-time, long-term position commencing in September 2026, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning and intervention activities.
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
    • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
    • Sensory and physical impairments
    • Social, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Follow school policies and procedures at all times.
  • Liaise effectively with teachers, support staff, and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Pre-requisites:

  • Proven experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting learners.
