About the role:

Justteachers is seeking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join one of our partner secondary schools in Northampton. We are looking for an experienced English specialist who can confidently teach Key Stages 3 and 4, demonstrate strong behaviour management skills, and go the extra mile to support students in achieving their full potential.

This is a full-time supply position to start September 2026, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility and adaptability are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (Years 7–11).
  • Follow the UK National Curriculum to create inspiring and informative learning experiences.
  • Build positive relationships with students and maintain high expectations within the classroom.
  • Implement and adhere to the school’s behaviour management policies.
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress effectively.

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and/or KS4.
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
  • A passion for education and the ability to motivate and inspire learners through a variety of teaching strategies.
  • The ability to provide at least two education-based references.
  • A recognised teaching qualification, including QTS, QTLS, or ECT status.
