About the role:

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs within a welcoming and inclusive school in Lutterworth on a long term full time supply basis starting September 2026.

This is a highly rewarding role where you will provide tailored, one-to-one support, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)

 

  • Support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing

 

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO

 

  • Implement tailored strategies and support plans

 

  • Assist with behaviour management and engagement

 

  • Create a nurturing, safe and inclusive learning environment

 

  • Adapt resources to suit individual learning needs

 

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Previous experience working with children or adults with SEND or complex needs within the last two years.
  • Experience in settings such as schools, care homes, residential care, SEMH provisions, or Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) is highly desirable.

 

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEND)

 

 

  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach

 

 

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport

 

 

  • A proactive and adaptable mindset

 

 

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
