About the role:

A large community primary school in Newton heath is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND Primary Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The school is proud of its inclusive ethos, supportive leadership, and strong focus on early learning, pupil progress, and wellbeing.

As a SEND Teacher, you will lead a group of mixed ability and needs children in a brand new resource provision along side the SENDCO and 5 specialist TAS who will support you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons in line with the needs of the children
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
  • Supporting pupils in developing strong early reading and writing skills
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers to share progress, celebrate achievements, and address any concerns
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and school leaders to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
  • Understanding EHCPs and following through with support plans

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in a SEND setting
  • A strong understanding of early years development and the national curriculum
  • Secure knowledge of phonics teaching and early maths strategies
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
