About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Castleford from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a committed professional who is passionate about delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils’ academic and personal growth within Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to Year 4 pupils
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress in line with the KS2 curriculum
  • Differentiate learning to support all abilities, including pupils with additional needs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers
  • Contribute to wider school life, including meetings and school activities
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent experience teaching within KS2 (Year 4 experience desirable)
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • 2 school based references
