About the role:

Justteachers is working with a secondary school in Warwick that is seeking a full time History Teacher to cover maternity leave from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and knowledgeable teacher to join a supportive humanities department and deliver engaging History lessons in a well-established school environment.

You’ll teach History across KS3 and KS4, maintain continuity of learning during the teacher’s absence, and contribute positively to the wider life of the department.

The school offers a welcoming atmosphere, strong behaviour expectations, and a committed staff team focused on high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the UK national curriculum
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports progress for learners of all abilities
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs where appropriate
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and follow school policies consistently
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the humanities team to support planning, progress, and wider school life

Pre-requisites:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching History in a UK secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for History and the ability to inspire and engage learners.
  • Two relevant references, ideally from educational settings
