About the role:

Justteachers are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Birmingham to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher for a September 2026 start.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly supportive school that caters for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction needs, and associated learning difficulties. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, helping them achieve both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with ASC, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress against EHCP targets.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and promote positive learning outcomes.
  • Attend annual reviews, meetings, and contribute to pupil support plans.

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEND pupils in either mainstream or specialist settings.
  • Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition and communication needs.
  • Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, flexible, and child-centred approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
