About the role:

A welcoming primary school in Bradford is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full‑time basis, starting as soon as possible. Through Justteachers, you’ll support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive in the classroom.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEND.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support — assist pupils with SEND in accessing the curriculum and developing key skills.
  • Implement personalised learning strategies — follow EHCP targets and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
  • Support behaviour and emotional regulation — use positive behaviour approaches to create a calm, nurturing environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO — contribute to planning, reviews, and progress monitoring.
  • Promote independence — encourage pupils to develop confidence and self‑management skills.

 

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Previous experience working with SEND pupils in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of a range of additional needs, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs.
  • Ability to commit to a full‑time role starting immediately.
  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
