About the role:

Justteachers is currently recruiting a caring and committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the team at a Specialist Education setting in Coventry. This is a full-time role, starting in September 2026, with the opportunity to work long-term within a well-respected specialist setting.

The school provides education for children and young people aged 4–19 with a range of additional needs including visual impairment, physical disabilities, medical needs, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The school prides itself on providing a supportive, inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individual pupils or small groups with their learning and emotional development.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored learning activities.
  • Promote inclusion and encourage independence in line with pupils’ individual needs and EHCPs.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility support where necessary.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Pre-requisites:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping young people succeed.
  • A flexible, positive attitude and the ability to respond to the changing needs of pupils.
  • Two recent, school-based references.
