About the role:

A supportive and forward‑thinking school in Bradford is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Assistant to join their team straight away. This long‑term role will run until July 2027, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for a candidate who demonstrates commitment, reliability, and impact.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders to support pupils who require additional guidance with behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation. You will play a key role in helping students access learning, manage challenges, and develop positive routines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupil behaviour across the school, both in and out of the classroom
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group interventions focused on behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement
  • Assisting teachers in maintaining a calm, structured learning environment
  • Monitoring behaviour patterns and reporting concerns to pastoral leads
  • Supporting restorative conversations and conflict resolution

Requirements

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, confident approach
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries
  • Full‑time availability from the agreed start date
  • A resilient, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to support pupil development
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
