About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Care Co-ordinator to join a secondary school in Sheffield. This is a full-time, temporary position running from September 2026, until April 2027.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in supporting students’ wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and personal development. Working closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads, teaching staff, and external agencies, you will help ensure every student feels safe, supported, and able to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day pastoral support for students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Support and implement effective behaviour management strategies, including restorative approaches.
  • Monitor and promote high standards of attendance and punctuality.
  • Liaise with parents and carers to support student wellbeing and progress.
  • Deliver targeted interventions for vulnerable students.
  • Support safeguarding processes in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student support and interventions.

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience working with young people aged 11–16, ideally within a school setting.
  • A calm, resilient approach, with the ability to build strong, positive relationships.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • A commitment to inclusion, equality, and student wellbeing.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, counselling, or safeguarding are desirable, but not essential.
