About the role:

Justteachers is currently recruiting for a caring and dedicated SEN Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist autism provision in Rugby. This rewarding role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping pupils reach their full potential in a structured and nurturing environment. The school is looking to appoint someone for September 2026, although an earlier start is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging learning activities
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Support pupils with communication and social interaction needs
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

Pre-requisites:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
