About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Sheffield, starting in June/July 2026 and running into the new academic year of September 2026. This is a full-time, fixed-term position covering maternity leave, offering long-term stability for the right candidate. The school is known for its supportive leadership team, strong community values, and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning within a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Food Technology lessons across relevant key stages
  • Plan, prepare and assess students’ work in line with the national curriculum
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement
  • Contribute to a safe, well-organised and inspiring learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with the department and wider school team

Pre-requisites:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • Proven experience of teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the Food Technology curriculum
  • Two education or school-based references
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
