About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school in Northamptonshire, starting after the May half term 2026. This is a full-time role, providing 1:1 support to a pupil, making a meaningful impact on their learning and development.

This opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and supporting those who may need additional help to thrive in a classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil, adapting approaches to meet their individual needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development
  • Help manage behaviour positively and effectively in line with school policies
  • Monitor and record progress, feeding back to the class teacher and SENCO
  • Encourage independence and confidence in learning
  • Support during classroom activities, playtimes, and daily routines
  • Work collaboratively with staff and parents to ensure the best outcomes for the pupil

Pre-requisites:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Available full-time from after May half term 2026
  • Two recent professional references
  • Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
