About the role:
Justteachers is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and nurturing school in the Wakefield area on a long‑term basis.
The full‑time post is due to start immediately, with shortlisting currently taking place. The school is committed to providing a safe, structured and emotionally supportive environment where pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs can thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to engage positively in learning and daily routines
• Implementing behaviour strategies, emotional regulation techniques and personalised interventions
• Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies to promote pupil wellbeing
Pre-requisites:
• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work or support work • Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs • Strong knowledge of behaviour management, de‑escalation and emotional regulation strategies • Two education or school‑based references
