About the role:

Justteachers are seeking a committed and compassionate Key Stage 4-5 Teaching Assistant to join a modern, specialist SEND school in Wigan.

The school supports pupils aged 4–16 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities.
This role is due to start after May half term.
The role involves maintaining open and consistent communication with parents and carers regarding pupils’ progress and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning and care for pupils with a range of SEND needs.

 

Assist with adapting and delivering activities planned by the teacher to meet individual learning needs and outcomes.

 

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other members of the SEND team to provide consistent and effective support.

 

Observe and record pupil progress, contributing information to reviews and reports as required.

 

Help to create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel supported, respected, and valued.

 

Pre-requisites:

Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting (essential).

 

Background in supporting students with SEND, including Autism, SEMH, and other additional needs.

 

Ability to stay composed and patient when faced with challenging situations.

 

Strong commitment to supporting children’s learning and overall development.
