About the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Design Technology Teacher,  who is looking for a Long term role, in a Secondary school in the Preston area on a full time basis. The role is set to commence in May 2026, with shortlisting currently underway.

 An ambitious secondary setting with a strong focus on raising achievement and building confident learners. Staff work within a clear structure that promotes high expectations, consistency and positive outcomes for pupils.

 Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Deliver dynamic Design Technology lessons that motivate and challenge learners
  • Teach practical and theory-based content across KS3 and KS4
  • Develop students’ confidence in designing, making and evaluating products
  • Drive strong progress and outcomes, including at GCSE where applicable
  • Promote safe working practices at all times in workshops and classrooms
  • Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of abilities and learning needs
  • Track progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the DT curriculum
  • Champion high standards of behaviour, engagement and achievement

Pre-requisites:

  • UK secondary school teaching experience essential
  • Qualified teacher status or equivalent
  • Experience with practical workshop delivery
  • Strong health and safety knowledge
