About the role
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in Wakefield. This full-time role is due to start in September 2026 and will be offered on a temporary to permanent, long-term supply basis, providing an excellent opportunity for a teacher looking to secure a permanent position. Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
  • Support pupils in developing confidence and problem-solving skills in Maths
  • Contribute to the wider school community and departmental development

Pre-requisites

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. QTS, PGCE or equivalent in Mathematics)
  • Proven experience of teaching Maths within a secondary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Two education or school-based references
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to raising attainment
