About the role:

justteachers are seeking a skilled and motivated Design and Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Bradford area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DT specialist or a confident ECT to deliver high‑quality lessons across a range of DT disciplines. The position begins immediately and continues through to the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in line with curriculum requirements
  • Support students in developing technical skills across materials, tools, and processes
  • Ensure safe use of equipment and maintain a well‑organised workshop environment
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
  • Promote creativity, problem‑solving, and independent thinking
  • Maintain strong behaviour management and uphold safeguarding standards
  • Contribute to departmental planning, resources, and wider school initiatives

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge across DT specialisms (e.g., Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics)
  • Experience teaching DT in UK secondary schools
  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Confident classroom management and excellent communication skills
  • Two school based references
