About the role:

Justteachers are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Leeds on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that bring the past to life. The ideal candidate will have a strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and a commitment to fostering a love of history in young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
  • Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Participate in school events, parent evenings, and staff meetings.
  • Uphold the school’s values and promote positive behaviour and attitudes.

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in History or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching History at secondary level (KS3 and KS4).
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
