About the role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Computing and IT Teacher to join a mainstream secondary school in Wakefield starting as soon as possible on a part-time basis, working Tuesday to Friday. This is a long-term supply position, offering the opportunity to deliver engaging Computing and IT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a supportive and well-resourced department. The school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong community values, and commitment to providing high-quality education in a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Computing and IT lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Differentiate learning to support students of varying abilities
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress
  • Maintain strong classroom management and promote positive behaviour
  • Contribute to departmental collaboration and curriculum development

Pre-requisites

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., UK QTS or equivalent teaching qualification)
  • Proven experience of teaching Computing and/or IT at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Strong knowledge of the secondary Computing and IT national curriculum
  • Two education or school-based references
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
