We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Citizenship Teacher to join a supportive school community in Doncaster, starting in September 2024. As a Citizenship Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students develop their understanding of democracy, government, human rights, and social responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Citizenship lessons that cover a range of topics, including democracy, law, politics, human rights, and social issues.
  • Foster critical thinking and informed debate among students, encouraging them to explore different perspectives and develop their own opinions on societal issues.
  • Promote active citizenship and civic engagement through practical activities, projects, and discussions both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Support students in developing the knowledge, skills, and values needed to become responsible and active members of society.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate citizenship education across the curriculum and promote a culture of democratic participation within the school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Citizenship education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in citizenship, politics, law, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students in discussions about citizenship, democracy, and social justice.
  • Previous experience teaching Citizenship or related subjects at the secondary level is desirable but not essential.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
