Covid testing for teaching staff- How to obtain your free lateral flow tests

covid testing

As schools reopen and lockdown restrictions gradually ease, we encourage all our supply staff to participate in bi-weekly lateral flow testing. Regular testing is quick and painless and when combined with other protective measures will help keep you and schools safe.

Regular testing will be delivered via a number of routes, one of the quickest and easiest is to collect home testing kits from a test site. Sites are COVID-secure and operated by trained staff and you can pick the kits up on the day and get up to 28 tests per household.

To find your local rapid test collection centre, simply type in your town or postcode and hover over the marker to find out opening times and further information.

You can also take a test at a community assisted test site if you prefer. Again, simply put in your town or postcode and hover over the marker to find out opening times and further information.

If you are unable to collect test kits,  go to a test site, or get tested at your workplace, you can order a home test kit online on the following supplementary conditions:

  • you do not have coronavirus symptoms
  • you have not been told to self-isolate
  • you or someone in your household, childcare or support bubble attends a primary or secondary school (including sixth form students) or works at one

As there are limited home test kits available, Justteachers is encouraging, where possible, our staff to undertake testing by collecting home testing kits, undertaking on site tests, or by using a community assisted test site.
