Justteachers are recruiting a number of Cover Supervisors to work within our partner Secondary Schools, on a full or part time basis, in Manchester and the surrounding area.
We can offer regular work in schools based on your suitability and location. Justteachers are able to offer regular work in the same schools, which could lead to more long-term and permanent positions.
Previous experience is not essential, as full training can be provided by justteachers.

The justteachers Cover Supervisor course is aimed at upskilling unqualified and inexperienced candidates who are looking to get into the education sector, or considering a career in teaching. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain classroom-based experience and make a positive impact to pupils from a multitude of backgrounds.
The role involves taking sole charge of lessons and delivering pre-prepared work to students, taking full account of the school behaviour policy and ensuring the quality of learning experience for students within the class.
As a Cover Supervisor you will need to cover a range of subjects and be able to think on your feet and adapt quickly to the work provided. You will also need to be able to show authority in the classroom and manage student behaviour, using the school policy.
Our highly experienced Headteacher, has created a cover supervisor training programme that will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed for this role, and gives you the necessary support to build your confidence, and to succeed as a cover supervisor in secondary schools.
You will have:
- Maths and English GCSE at grade C/4/5 or above or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be able to foster positive relationships with teenagers and young adults
- An ability to work flexibly and react to the demands of the pace of school life
- A minimum of 2 references, dated within 2 years
