Science Teacher required for a special school with PRU provision for students with SEMH needs
Start September 2020 – Permanent role which may attract a TLR.
The School; A year 7 to 11 special school and PRU provision for students with SEMH needs.
We are looking for a Science teacher for students from year 7 to 11. The school follows the National Curriculum and use Pearson’s Exploring Science at KS3 and is accredit at the end of year 11, using the BTEC Applied Science course to level 1. The school has a fully equipped science laboratory and preparation room.
Students at the school have SEMH as their primary need, however many of the students have additional needs in cognition & learning, communication and interactions. The school support their needs using Nurture Approaches and in class intervention and learning support.
You will be required
- To have QTS and experience of primary and/or secondary science teaching
- Experience working with a range of SEMH and learning needs students
- Ability to work with on your own initiative
- Strong behaviour management
