 Behaviour Specialist

We have a fantastic opportunity to appoint a Behaviour Specialist.

As a Behaviour Specialist, you will work closely with students to  support, develop and implement personalised support plans that both meet their needs and help to grow their independence and life skills.

The ideal candidate will:

Hold a formal qualification in: or Positive Behaviour Support i.e. PBS BTEC (advanced professional Diploma), BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc in Analysis and Intervention in Learning Disability, Applied Behaviour Analysis,

In addition, the candidate will be able to demonstrate:

A history of direct support experience with people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour

A history in conducting assessment and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals presenting with Challenging Behaviours

A history of development and delivery of Positive Behaviour Support training

Key Responsibilities:

Support Disabilities, many with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)

Take professional responsibility for a specialist caseload and to provide expert advice and recommendations to staff working within the services regarding positive behavioural support

Provide holistic assessment (incorporating functional assessment) of the nature and context in which behaviours of concern occur.

Monitor and evaluate behaviour support plans

Role model positive behavioural support and practice leadership to support staff

Promote safe, ethical and respectful risk and physical management practices for staff and comply with relevant policies and requirements, including recording and reporting.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Experience of working with children and adults with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Mental Health Diagnoses and/or those who may display behaviours that can challenge – essential.

Experience of both supported living and residential young adult settings – desirable. 

Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
