We are seeking to appoint an excellent teacher who will teach English, Maths, History, Geography and RE to a Year 8 ‘Access Class’ to cover a maternity leave. The students within this teaching group need additional support to access the curriculum. They are taught as a small group (11 students), by one teacher with an LSA for 14 lessons a week (English, Maths, History, Geography, and RE). The appointed teacher will also be required to teach ASDAN and an Events Management vocational qualification to small classes of students who need additional support in Years 9, 10 and 11. To secure good progress for each child, you must be able to effectively use a wealth of strategies to address the individual’s barriers to learning so that they can become confident, successful learners. You must therefore be creative, focused, resilient and good-humoured and have experience of working alongside LSAs. As a skilled teacher, you must have excellent communication skills, be extremely motivated and have an ambition to see all of our learners succeed.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- 5 good GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics
- A-Levels or equivalent
- Degree or equivalent
- QTS Status
- An ability to pass a DBS check (non-negotiable)
- EXPERIENCE – The successful candidate will: Be an excellent teacher demonstrating enthusiasm and a commitment to education
- Have experience of building and sustaining effective relationships with colleagues
- Have experience of teaching in an 11-18 environment
- Have experience of teaching in a SEND specialist environment
